The siphon and the forge…

failure to offer IGTV stars monetization has led many to ignore that platform, and it can’t afford that again.n

If Zuckerberg approaches TikTok as merely an algorithmic video recommender like Explore, Facebook will miss out on owning the social entertainment feed. If he doesn’t decisively move to challenge TikTok soon, its catalog of content to remix will grow insurmountable and it will own the whole concept of short-form performative video. Why the hell has this article concluded with a political statement on America vs China, playing into the naive good vs bad trope, making a call to save Americans from the hands of the China boogeyman (TikTok). Ugh. Stick to tech analysis. No one cares for silly political statements that are not backed by any nuance, especially in a tech magazine. Also, the title is horrendously clickbaity. All Zuckerberg seems to be implying is that the product (Instagram Explore Tab) lends itself to evolution. The way tiktok is being used is simply a use case of how the app ended up being used. And Zuckerberg’s statement affirms that.n”,”link”:”https://techcrunch.com/2019/10/01/instagram-vs-tiktok/#comment-674546″,”type”:”comment”,”author_avatar_urls”:”24″:”https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/f0f6231b5ef9299f7cdec5ff2b934ea3?s=24&d=identicon&r=g”,”48″:”https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/f0f6231b5ef9299f7cdec5ff2b934ea3?s=48&d=identicon&r=g”,”96″:”https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/f0f6231b5ef9299f7cdec5ff2b934ea3?s=96&d=identicon&r=g”,”techcrunch”:”avatar”:”https://ct.yimg.com/cy/1768/39361574426_98028a_64sq.jpg”,”company”:”(no company found)”,”title”:”(no title found)”,”user”:”2OKSWCRQE735OM6H4462OIMZVU”,”_links”:”self”:[“href”:”https://techcrunch.com/wp-json/wp/v2/comments/674546″],”collection”:[“href”:”https://techcrunch.com/wp-json/wp/v2/comments”],”up”:[“embeddable”:true,”post_type”:”post”,”href”:”https://techcrunch.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/1889620″],”children”:[“href”:”https://techcrunch.com/wp-json/wp/v2/comments?parent=674546″],”id”:674558,”parent”:0,”author”:0,”author_name”:”Stay Frosty”,”author_url”:””,”date”:”2019-10-03T07:47:55″,”content”:”rendered”:”
